Full Day The Mother Temple
Join us this full day tour to the breathtaking area of Mount Gunung Agung.
On the way, we will visit the traditional Balinese village of Penglipuran, 700m above sea level. It is best known for its well-preserved traditional culture and village layout. While most of its residents have embraced modernity, its individual compounds are well-kept, with manicured gardens lining its single linear stone-paved street that runs through the centre of the village toward the village temple, and age-old arched entrance gates and walls that conceal the houses within.
Then, we will proceed to Besakih, the most important and biggest temple of Bali. The temple was built in the 11th century at 1000m of altitude on the slopes of mount Agung, the sacred volcano of Bali. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with a beautiful view of Bukit Jambul hills.
After lunch, we will visit the incredible painted ceilings of the old Klungkung's palace of justice Kerta Gosa, where we can admire the ancient frescos that show old methods of punishment.
