Take a delightful stroll through the Maria Luisa Park and discover the lush green heart of Seville. Your local guide will lead you expertly through this beautiful centrepiece of the city, originally part of the gardens of The San Telmo Palace and donated to the people by the Duchess of Mont Pensier, the Infanta Luis Fernanda back in 1893. The gardens were remodelled in 1911 and work began in 1914 to create a place to host the Hispano-American Exhibition of 1924. See the famous Fuente de los Leones (“Lion’s Fountain”) and the Water Lily pond. Your guide will explain the stories behind the many pavilions such as the Royal Pavilion built for the exhibition and the majestic memorials to the 17th century poet Gustavo Adolfo Becquer and in Plaza America the memorial to Spain’s most famous author Miguel Cervantes. This stunningly beautiful Square is also known as El Parque de las Palomas (“Park of Doves”) because many doves make their home here. Linger around the magnificent Plaza Espana, the crescent shaped square with its many tiled alcoves, each one representing a different province of Spain, and most famously used as film location for Lawrence of Arabia and Star Wars Episode 2 – The Attack of the Clones. Finally don’t miss visiting the Archaeological Museum, formerly the Pavilion of Fine Arts and now considered the best of its kind in Spain. Redeem informationVoucher type: E-VoucherE-voucher.
